North American Auto Equipment offers 2 post auto lifts for low ceiling installations. When Considering Installing a lift in your shop you should Consider Ceiling Height, Floor thickness and type of concrete, Type of vehicle and weight, length of vehicle, pickup points and weight distribution. You should also consider the building codes in your area.

Floorplate Lifts range in height from 9' to 9'-6" Tall Columns. The Formula for calculating ceiling height: add the Vehicle Cabin Thickness "Frame to Roof" (The suspension and wheels will hang down) to the clearance between the floor and the bottom of the chassis. Formula example: 6' + Cabin Thickness frame to roof in this example 40" or 3'-4" + 6' equals 9'-4" ceiling height minimum. Floorplate lifts available through North American Auto Equipment are designed for any auto shop. RELIABLE CHAIN OVER HYDRAULIC DESIGN. Dual Cylinder Chain over hydraulic lift designed and built like many of the old ANSI Standard B153.1 Lifts in the 1980's and 1990's. The concept is a basic lifting system that will give a full six feet of lift without the need for a 12' ceiling. Most residential customers that purchase a lift, will purchase the Nortec floorplate Lift Designs. Nortec TP9KF and NT-9 Low ceiling two posts, are constructed of High quality Steel and the welding is smooth like a bead of caulking. Nortec Lifts come with rebuildable hydraulic cylinders and pumps. We stock the parts and if we run out, we can track them down for you. The designs are widely distributed and maybe crossed referenced with other brands.

Clearfloor means exactlly that, having a clearfloor or nothing in between the posts on the floor. This is the ideal situation for rolling transmission jacks and waste oil drain tanks or even powertrain table lifts. This does not mean that floorplate lifts are not effective, they are the next best thing to having a clearfloor, you have the vehicle in the air and complete undercar access with or without the clearfloor.
